Sheeba Roberts is a Director in the Portland office of Betts, Patterson & Mines, P.S. Ms. Roberts has extensive experience as lead counsel in Oregon and Washington state and federal courts litigating complex civil matters. Ms. Roberts represents businesses of all sizes and excels at navigating complex legal problems. Her practice focuses on business litigation including defending employment law, state law securities, product liability, professional liability, and premises liability claims. She also has a successful appellate practice and has appeared before state and federal appellate courts.
Ms. Roberts began her legal career clerking for the Hon. Kelly Skye at the Multnomah County Circuit Court, Oregon’s busiest trial court. At the trial court, she gained valuable experience understanding the court’s approach to motion practice and trial and best practices for presenting to juries. Ms. Roberts also clerked for the Hon. Roger DeHoog, while he served on the Oregon Court of Appeals. Her appellate experience provides insight on how to best preserve issues for appeal and how to navigate appeals.
Ms. Roberts has served on the Board of Directors for Oregon Women Lawyers. She was also awarded the Andrea Swanner Redding Outstanding Mentor Award for her mentorship of first year law students at Lewis & Clark Law School. She currently serves on the Executive Committee of the Oregon State Bar’s Business Litigation Section. In 2024, Ms. Roberts was recognized as a “Rising Star” by Super Lawyers.

- Argued and won a motion for summary judgment in the Western District of Washington dismissing business torts against a large healthcare IT company. Successfully defended this win on appeal before the Ninth Circuit.
- Won an arbitration of products liability claims against a large plumbing manufacturer.
- Secured a six-figure settlement on counterclaims filed in a trademark infringement case in the Western District of Washington for an online business.
