Betts, Patterson & Mines strengthens its insurance coverage and defense capabilities with the addition of five talented attorneys from the former law firm Thorsrud Cane & Paulich. Effective April 1st, Matthew Munson joins Betts as a Director, and Patrick Paulich, Paul Cane, Russell Love and June Jackson join as Of Counsel.
Matthew Munson’s practice focuses on insurance defense and insurance coverage matters. Prior to joining BPM, Mr. Munson was a Shareholder at Thorsrud Cane & Paulich and has been named a Washington State “Rising Star” for 2009-2011 by Super Lawyers. He earned his B.A. from Pomona College in 1998 and his J.D., with honors, from University of Washington in 2001.
Patrick M. Paulich’s practice emphasizes insurance coverage, environmental law, construction law, product liability and general insurance defense. Prior to joining BPM, Mr. Paulich was President and Managing Shareholder at Thorsrud Cane & Paulich. He is rated “AV Preeminent,” the highest possible rating in both legal ability and ethical standards, by Martindale-Hubbell and has been named a Washington State “Super Lawyer” from 2001 through 2015 by Super Lawyers Magazine. Mr. Paulich earned his B.A., magna cum laude, from the University of Washington in 1976 and his J.D. from University of Washington in 1980.
Paul F. Cane’s practice encompasses a broad range of insurance defense matters from product liability and personal injuries to construction and premises claims. After serving as a Deputy Prosecuting Attorney, in 1982 he began his career as litigation counsel for the insurance defense community and its insureds. Prior to joining BPM, Mr. Cane was a Shareholder at Thorsrud Cane & Paulich. He is rated “AV Preeminent,” the highest possible rating in both legal ability and ethical standards, by Martindale-Hubbell since 1988 and has been named a Washington State “Super Lawyer” for 2002-2015 by Super Lawyers Magazine. Mr. Cane earned his B.A. from the University of Washington in 1973 and his J.D. from Hastings College of Law in 1978.
Russell C. Love’s practice focuses principally on insurance coverage and appellate matters. Prior to joining BPM, Mr. Love was a Shareholder at Thorsrud Cane & Paulich. He frequently advises insurers on coverage issues involving pollution claims, construction defect claims, and fidelity coverage claims. Mr. Love has argued numerous appeals, both on behalf of defendants and as amicus on behalf of the Washington Defense Trial Lawyers. He is rated “AV Preeminent,” the highest possible rating in both legal ability and ethical standards, by Martindale-Hubbell and has been named a Washington State “Super Lawyer” for 2007-2015 by Super Lawyers Magazine. He earned his B.A. from Pomona College in 1970 and his J.D. from Georgetown University Law Center in 1978.
June Jackson’s practice concentrates on appeals, insurance coverage and general insurance defense. Prior to joining BPM, Ms. Jackson was Of Counsel at Thorsrud Cane & Paulich. She earned her B.A. from Bryn Mawr College in 1983 and her J.D. from University of Maine Law School in 1992.
